6 Meses Como Misionera!
Hello everyone! I hit 6 months as a missionary tomorrow. How crazy is that?? This week was so so crazy and busy and exhausting but full of miracles. I feel like my brain is mush and I can't ever remember anything but I am learning so much and am grateful for the miracles every day.
Ok we had transfers on Tuesday which means I have been with Hermana Rocha for almost a week now. She is so fun and laid back. She's been educating me all about England. She said she misses the queen. We have had lots of fun and she's still a sorta new missionary and I just got to the area so we are just having fun learning from each other and learning the area. This area is tiny but has tons of Spanish people and there are literally thousands of apartments. She is super motivated but keeps it fun. Also her English accent is awesome! We live near the temple which is so lucky. We have been doing morning walks around the temple and getting to see the sunrise and the temple first thing in the morning is such a blessing!
We had a VC training meeting on Wednesday and Santa Claus came! We got a nativity scene from the Hendricksons but it was missing the baby Jesus and when Santa Claus came he gave us all the missing piece which was Jesus Christ. It was cute. I'm so grateful I am a VC sister. I can't believe I was sad when I got my mission call lol. That was dumb of me. Little did I know the VC would come to be one of my favorite places. I feel so blessed to serve there.
On Saturday we had a mission wide meeting and got to hear from Elder Quentin L. Cook. I got to shake his hand and he looked at me and said "It's nice to meet you. Thank you for serving." It was super cool. He shared his testimony of Christ and said some things I will never forget. He said that serving a mission will bless every aspect of our life. He shared stories from his mission and it was an awesome meeting and the spirit was super strong.
Last night was one of the best nights I've ever had in the VC. It was miracle after miracle and there were tons of Spanish people I got to talk to. We gave out a ton of copies of the BOM and I got to see some more familiar faces which was a huge blessing. I kinda got bashed by some people and they were asking me the craziest questions. I was able to answer all of them and testify all about prophets and the atonement and when the conversation finished, even though they weren't interested at all, I felt content and like I had done all I can and that God was proud of me for sharing my testimony and trying my best to teach them.
Ok my spiritual thought for this week is gonna be from Elder Cook from the meeting. He said that our success is based on our desire and he talked about a bunch of things. He said we have to love the people you are teaching, love the members, love your mission president, and most of all to love the Savior and to make your commitment to Him. He said that more important than knowing the lessons is knowing the doctrine so that when we are older and raising our families we will know it and can use it. The spirit was so strong in that room the whole meeting and it was really cool to hear from an apostle.
Love and miss you all!
