Lots Of Wild Moments This Week

Hey everybody! I hope you all had a great week! I love you all and miss you loads. This week was busy and exhausting and a lot happened. This week was full of crazy moments. Like moments that made me and my comp go "is this even real???"

One of the days this week we were in the visitors center and this man named Leeland Burton came in and we were having a nice conversation and then he said "one time my prior bishop said something that offended me real bad so I put a dead fish in his car" he said it was 115 degrees outside and it was stinking and everything and they couldn't find it cuz he hid it under the backseat and had to sell the car and me and my companion were just laughing. It was funny.

We were knocking doors and we found phamplets from another church so we stole them and replaced them with our church invites or Jesus pass alongs teehee. The message they were sharing wasn't even hopeful like at least the message we have is joyful and happy.

Some random man in the visitors center gave us necklace pendant charms so that was cool. Everyone is so nice and generous to the missionaries. Blessed fr. 

Also I think I forgot to say this but like a month ago we came home from the visitors center one night and there was a homeless man sleeping in our driveway. But he's also a regular at the vc and we literally know him by name. Like bro Michael what are you doing in our driveway.

The drivers here are probably the worst ever and a school bus almost hit us this week. A big yellow school bus just turned directly into us and I had to swerve out of the way. That's just one of the close calls we have every day while driving here. But it keeps things interesting and I guess it's making me be a better driver so that's a plus??

Ok so we had a member dinner this week and we ate and were talking afterwards and their 15 year old autistic son Kaden walks by completely naked. No shame whatsoever and completely unaware and me and my comp didn't say anything cuz we were literally in shock and then her 3 year old daughter screamed "Kadens naked" and the mom ran over and made him get dressed. Craziest member dinner I've ever had, never gonna forget that one haha.

We knocked a lot of doors this week as per usual and we knocked this one door and a Brazilian woman opened and started speaking in Portuguese. She spoke no English but me and my comp somehow understood her Portuguese and we responded in spanish and had a real conversation with her and invited her to the English classes and to church. It was crazy. Once I've mastered spanish I'm definitely learning Portuguese cuz they are basically the same. So that was a crazy miracle.

My little spiritual thought for the week is from the Book of Mormon in 3 Nephi 9:14 and it says "mine arm of mercy is extended towards you, and whosoever will come, him will I receive; and blessed are those who come unto me." Heavenly Father and Jesus love us through every circumstance and every trial and as long as we focus on that, all will be well.

Hello everyone! How are all you lovely people?? Miss you all so much! Another week has gone by here at the Provo mtc. This week was definitely a little slower and there were lots of changes. I have like 5 more days here at the mtc so I am getting nervous and excited to get to my mission! All of the elders in my district left for the field and are all in their missions now. After spending like 11 hours a day with them for 6 weeks straight we all got super tight so it was sad to see them all go. They are gonna be awesome missionaries though and I am excited for the reunion once we all get home. Like half are going to BYU so we will cross paths which is so awesome! MTC -> MESA

Hello everyone! I've oficially made it to my mission! I left mtc 6 days ago and with traveling I missed my mtc pday and now my pdays will be Monday with one Tuesday pday every transfer because of the temple. Ok here's my rundown of the last almost 2 weeks with leaving mtc and arriving in my mission... I finished up my visitors center classes on a Friday and had a super spiritual ending to my last class at the mtc. I loved my teachers! Then the next day was saturday and we went to temple square for a full day. All of the visitors center sisters get to do it and it was super fun! My comp for the day was a sister from Australia which was so cool! We got chick-fil-a for lunch at the mall nearby and it was the best thing ever. It was so so good to eat normal person food after 6 weeks of the mtc food. Monday night took a bunch of pics and said goodbyes to all of my friends and then left the mtc tuesday morning. One Month As A Missionary!!

Hello everyone! I cannot believe I've already been a missionary for a month! So crazy!! I started home mtc a month ago today. I've got three weeks left at the mtc until I head to Mesa which is so exciting! But I've only got two more weeks of spanish classes because my last week here will be temple visitors center training which I've heard is fun so I am looking forward to that!  Nothing really happened this week. Just a normal week of classes and Spanish tutoring and studying and all that good stuff. Spanish is fun and we start SYL on monday which is basically where you sign a paper that says you can't speak english for an entire week. I have been playing basketball and volleyball in the gym with my district which has been super fun! For those if you who don't know I played basketball for 10 years so it's been good to play it a little bit again cuz I miss it sometimes.
