Week 1 - Home MTC
What’s up everyone!!! I have been a missionary for 10 days now and it has been so good! I was in home mtc all of last week and I go into the Provo mtc later today! Online classes were so long and but I have learned so so much. I am so ready to go to the real mtc! I am super excited to meet my comp and everyone in my district!! And hopefully see all my friends who are already at the mtc!
There were around 600ish other missionaries set apart on the same day as me. Soooo many people are willing to serve and do the Lords work. It is so cool. To give up a year and a half or two years of your life to serve is not easy. I am proud of all my friends and family who are serving missions! You make me want to be the best missionary I can be.
Shout out to my comp Hermana Fox, she’s so awesome! The first teaching lesson we had was on Saturday and it was pretty rough. Immediately after she FaceTimed me and we both just started laughing and were like “dude that was so awkward” haha it was so funny. Hopefully we do better next time.
Since I got set apart I have been able to feel the spirit so much stronger and so often and I think that has been one of my favorite things about being a missionary so far. Everything I do now is centered on Christ. It’s kinda nice not to have to focus on anything else in life except for being a missionary. Every time I stress about things in the future I just remember that what happens after my mission doesn’t matter right now. If I focus on the work I am doing then everything else will fall into place later.
I have loved being able to hangout with my family so much and drink so much fiiz and eat so much good food! The Spanish is uh coming along I guess??? It’s so fun to listen to everyone in my district (me included) try and speak Spanish it makes me giggle. I already have like 30 pages of notes because everything my teachers say is so good and I have to write it all down!
Some of my fav quotes from my study journal this week:
“You don’t know everything, but you know enough!”
“The Lord blesses those who want to improve”
“Anything I can teach, the Book of Mormon can teach better”
“Some blessings come soon, some come late, and some don’t come until heaven; but for those who embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ, they come.” (An High Priest of Good Things to Come - Jeffrey R. Holland)
Here is my mtc address I’ll be there till August 6th. You can send me snacks or letters or whatever. I’m sure I would love some snacks cuz I’ve heard mtc food is not great
