Provo MTC Week 2
What's up everybody! Miss you all so much. Hope you are doing well and life is good.It feels like I have been a missionary my entire life but somehow it's only been 3 weeks??? I'm officially a third of the way done with my time at the Provo mtc and there have been so many blessings and tender mercies!! It has been hard and tiring but I am learning and growing so much! The days just blur together and if I wasn't journaling every day I would not remember anything. Also one of the sisters in my district has strep and I woke up with a sore throat today so wish me luck.
We started Spanish immersion classes last week and it is so much fun! It's easier than I thought it would be and my teachers are awesome and so patient with us. We aren't allowed to talk in English at all during our 3 hour classes everyday so by the time I walk out of class at the end of the night my brain is mush. We celebrated the 4th of July and got to watch the stadium of fire fireworks over the gate which was epic! Also me and my comp got almost a perfect score on our last english helping others appointment which is basically a mock lesson with actors who pretend to be investigators. It went great and we didn't follow our plan at all but somehow it flowed so well and we just let the spirit guide us! We taught her the importance of prayer. We walked out of that lesson feeling so good. It was great!
I have met so many nice people who have comforted me when I am sad or overwhelmed. Everyone here is so kind and I can tell how they emulate Christ and have his light surrounding them. Earlier in the week one of the Sisters in my hall gave me a bracelet that says "SMILE" and during the devotional last night Sister Pace said "nobody wants to be a part of a grumpy church. Smile!" That has been a good reminder for me.
Adjusting to the reality that this will be my life for the next year and a half is sometimes overwhelming. Sometimes I doubt that what I am doing is right but God is so good and I know that the peace and comfort I have received comes from him. I am so grateful for the power of the priesthood and for prayer. These things have blessed my life so much and I am excited to get to teach people the importance of it all.
My dad sent me a talk called "Agency or Inspiration" by Bruce R. McConkie from the 1975 New Era. I don't even know how he came upon it because I could not find it lol. Anyways it's a great talk so everyone go read it.
Join my google photos if you haven't already! I post silly pics throughout the week so feel free to join and comment and what not!
Thank you to everyone who supports me. I love you all and am grateful for you. Don't forget that God is in the details and remember to pray always because he hears and answers your prayers. Whenever you can, get on your knees to pray. Love you all. Email me whenever!
