MEGA BED And Lots Of Exchanges
Hola a todos! Hope you are all doing good! Next pday is on Tuesday and we are going to the temple and I am so excited! It was a pretty normal week honestly, not much happened but I'll try and make this interesting for you all. Also this is supposed to be the last week with triple digit temperatures so yayyy!!
Last pday we went bowling for district sports and it was so fun! I won with a whopping score of 119. Then once we ran all our errands, we went back to our house and it was boiling hot because our AC broke so we camped out at the church all day. Our shower also leaks water all over the floor. But our doorbell plays come come ye saints when we ring it so it makes up for all the things in our house that are sorta broken! Missionary apartments are wierd haha
We dropped so many people this week who aren't responding or just aren't progressing which is sad but that gives us more time and energy to devote to finding new people who actually want to hear the gospel. Knocking doors is scary not gonna lie, it definitely pushes me out of my comfort zone. But we still had two really good lessons this week! We also had some friends who were dropped a few months ago randomly come to sports night. So still tons of miracles!
The VC is great as always! Both the days we were in the VC this week we were on exchanges so I got to meet and talk to other sisters and get to know them which was awesome. We also had an exchange with Hna Palma so we were in a trio for the day. We didn't have an extra bed so we had to bring our mattresses out to the main room so she could sleep on the couch and not the floor so that was fun!
A random man named Juan messaged me and calles me amiga and send me hearts. Not sure if he's actually interested because he asked my age and where I live but he said he will come to sports night so that's a win! And some of our friends we are teaching call us hermosa or linda which means pretty or beautiful. Part of being a sister missionary is getting called cute or beaituful by random guys I guess.
Also I got to go on 2 runs this week which was so good because its hard to exercise on the mission so I am so grateful I got to do that! I didn't think I would miss being able to go on runs alone as much as I do.
Ok my spiritual thought for the week is from a conference talk called “Lovest Thou Me More Than These?” by M. Russell Ballard who says "I’m not saying that having a nice home or a nice car is wrong or that using social media is bad. What I am saying is that in the end, those things matter very little compared to loving the Savior." He talks about how at funerals people don't talk about how rich someone is or anything like that, they talk about their attributes, relationships, and how they served others. When we strive to become like Christ we simply just become better people. If we want to make the most positive impact we can on others, then we need to strive to be like Christ. It's so simple. The gospel is so simple and when we follow it's principles, everything else in our life becomes clearer.
In a couple of days I will have been a missionary for 4 months which is so crazy! Ok love and miss you all and will email you next week on Tuesday!
