Tocamos Muchos Puertas Y Está Frío
Hola a todos! Espero que su semana fue buena! My week was pretty good and we worked hard and saw lots of progress which is awesome! Things are picking up in our area and it was super slow for a little bit last transfer and now its picking back up and we are seeing progress which is exciting! Also it's been in the 40's here in the mornings and last month it was still like 110 so it feels absolutely fridgid outside in the mornings haha we are such wimps with the cold. But the weather is pretty much perfect right now so we are super grateful for that.
We have been knocking lots of doors and we had a goal to find one new person this week and we found this awesome guy named Ramiro! Not even a grey dot, a new person which is so exciting! When we walked up they had Sonora, México liscense plates on their cars so we knew that house had good potential. We taught him the plan of salvation on his doorstep and he just smiled the whole time and was super joyful. It was awesome!
We have gotten a couple good facebook referrals recently as well which we are really excited about. A random man liked some of my photos on facebook and then messaged me and asked if I was married lol. This week we visited some inactive members and some part-member families as well so we've been working hard with that which has been really good.
Our branch presidency got reorganized this weekend and Presidente Ordonez who has been the Adobe branch president for the last 6 years got released and watching him walk and go sit by his wife during sacrament for the first time in 6 years was the cutest thing ever. Presidente Ordonez was awesome! Grateful for everything he's done for the branch and will continue to do. Also we are getting a new ward mission leader which is crazy! Hermano Reeves is the best so we are sad to see him go but excited to see what will happen next in our little branch. Everybody whi got released and called amd their wives shared their testimonies so sacrament meeting was extra special this week.
Last pday we said bye to the Andersons who were one of the senior couples in the vc. We went to organ stop pizza for their little going away party which was the coolest restaurant ever. There was an actual organ there and a guy took song requests and played music and we all ate pizza and it was so fun!
Had one of the best vc days in my mission so far this week and saw so many miracles in one day. The biggest one was when some spanish elders brought in a friend named Jessica and asked me and my comp to help teach her and we taught her about the Christus and 3 Nephi 11 and it made her cry and then we taught her about the temple and baptism and watched a video about Jesus and the spirit was so so strong and she was tearing up again and the elders invited her to be baptized and it was just really awesome to be able to be a part of that. She wasn't quite ready yet but it was still really awesome to help teach her and help her feel the spirit.
My spiritual thought for the week is from a talk by Henry B. Eyring titled "Act in All Diligence" I've been studying dilligence and patience a lot recently so here's a quote I liked. Also if you are feeling unmotivated, go read this talk cuz its so good. "This is the Lord’s Church. He called us and trusted us even in the weaknesses He knew we had. He knew the trials we would face. By faithful service and through His Atonement, we can come to want what He wants and be what we must be to bless those we serve for Him. As we serve Him long enough and with diligence, we will be changed. We can become ever more like Him." I love the part that says "we can come to want what He wants and be what we must be to bless those we serve for Him" if we serve Him dilligently then His wants become our wants and through serving other we can become who He needs us to be so we can best help others.
Ok love and miss you all and hope you have a good week!
