"You Could Explain Yourself A Lot Better If You Spoke English"

Hello everyone! Hope your week was fun and you all had a good Halloween!

The title of my email is a quote from one of our lessons from this week with a guy we just met named Erick. Absolutely brutal comment. But it was funny and made us laugh. I guess my spanish skills aren't as good as I thought...but regardless of how bad my spanish was, the lesson went really well! Which is awesome and we were super grateful to have a real lesson and we have high hopes and lots of good goals for this transfer.

We also had a awesome visit with Raquel. We dropped cookies off and heart attacked her a while ago but just haven't been able to get in contact with her for a long time so this was a knock or drop and on the third knock she opened the door and let us in. She's the sweetest old lady ever and she said that everytime she talks to us she feels really peaceful and that we are like her nietas or granddaughters and her angels. She's so awesome!

We dressed up as elders for the ward halloween party which was super silly and we also carved pumpkins last pday during zone sports and we put them on our porch and when we walked outside the next morning they were just gone. All that was left was the stems and little candles from inside. So don't leave pumpkins outside in AZ cuz they will get eaten by something.

They put a new mural in the VC and it's right by the Christus. It's the one where Jesus visits the people in the America's so we got to talk about the Christus and Jesus in the America's a bunch this week which was so good! I've quoted 3 Nephi 11 a lot already haha it's awesome.

My little spiritual thought for the week is kind of a mix of things but a quote I like from an old talk by President Nelson says "Indeed, the precise challenge you regard now as “impossible” may be the very refinement you need, in His eye." and this quote by Brian K. Taylor that reads, "What will it matter … what we suffered here if, in the end, those trials … qualify us for eternal life … in the kingdom of God?" I like how it says "in His eye" because the refinement we receive is almost never what we want but always what we need to become who God wants us to be and ultimately to live with Him again.

Love and miss you all, email me whenever!
