Christmas On The Mish And No More Lights!

Hello everyone! Espero que tuvieron una buena navidad! Miss you all! It was a fun and crazy week. Christmas on the mission doesn't really feel like Christmas but it was still really fun. We had our last day with the Christmas lights and not gonna lie I was ready for it to be done. It was so so fun and there were tons of miracles but it was super tiring. Also it's almost 2025 now which is crazy!

We were in the vc a lot this week and I saw so many people I know! We got to give out lots of book of Mormons as usual, some in crazy languages which is fun. Also explained the temple a lot which never gets old. I love the temple so much. After pday ended last week we filled in for some sisters who were sick and couldn't come into the vc so we weren't even supposed to be there that night but I saw two families I know and it was a huge tender mercy. God knew I needed that.

On Christmas we went to the Porters who are a senior couple at the vc and we watched escape from Germany and it was so good! That was one of the last movies I watched before I left but watching it as a missionary was so cool and there were lots of crazy miracles. Also that was one of the only times we can watch a movie as missionaries so it was super fun! On Christmas we had a vc breakfast and got fed yummy food and we all hungout with the senior missionaries and it was so so fun. I am so lucky to serve as a visitors center sister. I seriously love it there so much. They make us feel so loved and the senior couples are the best. Christmas is a little sad being away from home and family but even though this Christmas was different, it was special to be able to just focus on serving others during this season and talking about Jesus with everyone.

We had a friend come to sports night and two friends come to church which was so so exciting!! They are cousins from Venezuela and their accent makes it a little harder to understand them so sometimes when they talk me and my comp don't understand everything they are saying and it's kinda awkward. But they are super patient and they both have lots of faith and are super interested in learning more. We have a lesson with them tonight and are super excited! We've got a few other solid friends and are excited that with the lights being over we are gonna have more time to prioritize our area because we will have more time and energy.

My little spiritual thought for the week is from a talk by Elder Kearon titled "Glad Tidings of Love and Joy" that I got sent by my parents during the week. He was talking about how even though Joseph Smith was just a farm boy, God was able to use him to do something remarkable. Elder Kearon says "This should bring us hope that in our small and humble way, we can also contribute in meaningful ways to the work of the Lord." No matter how insignificant our efforts may seem, God can make them meaningful and useful. The Lord loves effort and as long as we put in effort, God will be proud of us and use our humble efforts to bless others.

Anyways, that's my week. Love and miss you all and hope your Christmas was super fun and you remembered that it's all because of Jesus. Ok love you all! Email me if you want and I'll try to respond haha.
