Día De Gracias Y Luces De Navidad
Hola a todos espero que su semana era muy bien y que ustedes tuvieron una buena día de gracias!! This week was long and kinda insane. I'm tired and ready for pday and am so excited that we get to go to the temple!
Last pday we went to goodwill and me and my comp found matching dresses! We also did an escape room as a district which was super cool. Got MOD pizza which was an absolute dream. I love that place.
My comp got super sick so we tried to work when we could but ended up mostly staying at the apartment for a couple of days. While she was sleeping, I got a lot of good personal study time and caught up on my journaling. I also got to take some naps which is rare as a missionary so that was super nice. And she's feeling way better now which is good!
On thanksgiving my comp was still super sick so we spent most of the day at the house but we were able to go to our thanksgiving dinners. The first one we had traditional thankgiving food and the other we had tamales! I love tamales. Also no pie on thanksgiving which was wierd. Holidays are super wierd on the mission and are lowkey kinda sad. It was a fun day though and I was grateful that I got to call my family.
Saturday was our first vc day with the christmas lights! Basically how it works is the lights are from 5-10pm so for those 5 hours its super super busy in the vc. Absolute chaos compared to how it usually is. We are on our feet, talking to hundreds of people and introducing them to the church and giving out copies of the Book of Mormon. On the first night we gave out a total of 36 BOM's and there were like 3000 people total who came into the vc. I got to see some familiar faces which was so fun and talk to tons of new people from all over the world. Met someone from Pakistan?? Also we get home a lot later than usual so its gonna be an exhausting but fun month!! Lots of miracles to be had and I feel super lucky that I get to serve there.
My spiritual thought is from Alma 51:22-23, part of it reads "And those who were faithful in keeping the commandments of the Lord were delivered at all times" and "behold there never was a happier time among the people of Nephi" I like that because even though they had been through so many awful wars and hard, unfair things, they continued to keep the commandments. Because they did that, they were the happiest they had ever been. Of course they still had hard times but the bad was made better and the happy times were happier because they continued to keep the commandments through it all.
That's pretty much all that happened this week. Thanksgiving time made me reflect on all the things I am grateful for. Which is a lot! I feel super lucky to live the life I do and am so so blessed! One of the things I am grateful for is all of you guys. Thank you to each one of you who read my emails and who support me. Love and miss you all!
