Conferencia De Zona Y Muchas Milagros

Image
Hola a todos! Hope you all had a great week! My week was pretty good. Time is starting to go by faster and this week was full of miracles! I had zone conference on Tuesday which was good! On Thursday me and Hma Jones went to a different area for an exchange and there was a huge dust storm while we were knocking doors so we did some phone contacting in the car until it went away and Hma Palma, the sister we were on the exchange with, had us sing a song over the phone for not only one, but two different people. So we sang acapella families can be together forever in spanish over the phone two times in a row and it was so awkward and I basically just laughed the whole time. We are teaching these two guys named Nelson and Ali and last Sunday we got them to come to church by sitting down on their couch and basically not leaving until they agreeded to come. It was kinda awkward but it worked and they came to church! On Friday in the VC there was a lady standing outside the door so Hma Jones ...

Week 2 In MESA!

Image
Hola a todos! Miss you all and hope you all had a great week! My week was pretty eventful and I am learning so much every day which is good! Being a missionary is hard and scary but even on the hardest days, there are things to be joyful about! Ok so this week was crazy! We had so many lessons with so many different friends! It was fun but mostly I just sit there and smile and try to bear my testimony. My comps give me chances to try and teach and I say what I can and they fill in the gaps. Sometimes it goes okay and sometimes I have absolutely no idea what to say and I try and stutter my way through but my spanish is improving a lot and I can bear a simple testimony and that's all that matters. We are teaching a ton of people right now and since we are in the VC half the time we don't really have room to teach anyone else so I have only gone knocking doors one time so far. We actually only knocked one single door and it was a find haha. Hma Jones was driving and she randomly t...

MTC -> MESA

Hello everyone! I've oficially made it to my mission! I left mtc 6 days ago and with traveling I missed my mtc pday and now my pdays will be Monday with one Tuesday pday every transfer because of the temple. Ok here's my rundown of the last almost 2 weeks with leaving mtc and arriving in my mission... I finished up my visitors center classes on a Friday and had a super spiritual ending to my last class at the mtc. I loved my teachers! Then the next day was saturday and we went to temple square for a full day. All of the visitors center sisters get to do it and it was super fun! My comp for the day was a sister from Australia which was so cool! We got chick-fil-a for lunch at the mall nearby and it was the best thing ever. It was so so good to eat normal person food after 6 weeks of the mtc food. Monday night took a bunch of pics and said goodbyes to all of my friends and then left the mtc tuesday morning. Had to say bye to my comp Hermana Fox and the other sisters in my distric...

No Más Elders Y Nuevas Clases

Image
Hello everyone! How are all you lovely people?? Miss you all so much! Another week has gone by here at the Provo mtc. This week was definitely a little slower and there were lots of changes. I have like 5 more days here at the mtc so I am getting nervous and excited to get to my mission! All of the elders in my district left for the field and are all in their missions now. After spending like 11 hours a day with them for 6 weeks straight we all got super tight so it was sad to see them all go. They are gonna be awesome missionaries though and I am excited for the reunion once we all get home. Like half are going to BYU so we will cross paths which is so awesome! Also I started visitors center training which has been fun! I learned a bit more about what I am gonna do as a visitors center missionary and how that all sorta works so here's the rundown. There are 13 visitors' centers around the world. There are roughly 74,000 missionaries worldwide right now (I know crazy right??) a...

Another Week In The Provo MTC

Hello everyone! Somehow its already been another week??? The weeks really do start to fly by, its so crazy! I will be in my mission in less than two weeks which is wild! Im a little nervous but mostly excited! All of the elders in my district leave on Tuesday which is sad but all of us sisters have an extra week for visitors center so we get to be together for another week which is such a blessing! I'm so grateful for the sisters in my district and for my comp. They are all so awesome! And it has been so fun to meet so many other awesome people here. It will be sad to say bye to all my friends but I am excited to get to Mesa and to get to be by the temple every day! Something fun this week has been SYL or Speak Your Language so basically only spanish for an entire week. We started on Monday and I made it a goal to do 5 pushups for every word I accidentally say in English so that has been fun haha! My arms are definetely sore. Anyways I am learning so so much so fast and it is so fu...

One Month As A Missionary!!

Image
Hello everyone! I cannot believe I've already been a missionary for a month! So crazy!! I started home mtc a month ago today. I've got three weeks left at the mtc until I head to Mesa which is so exciting! But I've only got two more weeks of spanish classes because my last week here will be temple visitors center training which I've heard is fun so I am looking forward to that!  Nothing really happened this week. Just a normal week of classes and Spanish tutoring and studying and all that good stuff. Spanish is fun and we start SYL on monday which is basically where you sign a paper that says you can't speak english for an entire week. I have been playing basketball and volleyball in the gym with my district which has been super fun! For those if you who don't know I played basketball for 10 years so it's been good to play it a little bit again cuz I miss it sometimes. Anyways all the sisters wear baggy basketball shorts and big shirts so we all look like Ad...

Provo MTC Week 2

What's up everybody! Miss you all so much. Hope you are doing well and life is good.It feels like I have been a missionary my entire life but somehow it's only been 3 weeks??? I'm officially a third of the way done with my time at the Provo mtc and there have been so many blessings and tender mercies!! It has been hard and tiring but I am learning and growing so much! The days just blur together and if I wasn't journaling every day I would not remember anything. Also one of the sisters in my district has strep and I woke up with a sore throat today so wish me luck.  We started Spanish immersion classes last week and it is so much fun! It's easier than I thought it would be and my teachers are awesome and so patient with us. We aren't allowed to talk in English at all during our 3 hour classes everyday so by the time I walk out of class at the end of the night my brain is mush. We celebrated the 4th of July and got to watch the stadium of fire fireworks over the ...
